Montse Solano is an architect by Granada School of Architecture and holds a Master in Architecture | History | Project by the Faculty of Architecture Roma Tre. PhD in Architecture, with international mention, by the University of Granada and by the University of Roma Tre. Her thesis, ‘Inhabited Contexts’, was graded with Summa Cum Laude and was awared as finalist in the III Prize IUACC to best doctoral dissertations about architecture and city. Currently she is associated professor of architectural projects at ETSAE Technical University of Cartagena, and at Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio, Università della Svizzera italiana -teaching in Atelier Valero. She is supervisor of final degree projects and has been tutor at different international workshops. She is member of the research groups ‘Urban Recycling, Efficient Housing’ UGR – ‘Strategies of Architectural Design and Cultural Systems’ UPCT, and her works has been published in diverse specialized journals. She has been visiting researcher at several foreign schools of architecture and centers, including: ENSA Toulouse, Archives of 20th-Century Architecture Paris, Institute for Architecture TU Berlin, or IPRAUS ENSA Paris-Belleville. She has also worked at Elisa Valero Arquitectura and BREG Studio, among others, with various award-winning projects. She is founder of Montse Solano Studio, developing mainly architectural projects and competitions, but also other works related with conceptual processes and design.
